San Diego Chargers Tight End Antonio Gates agreed a six-year contract today after initially signing a one-year tender. Unfortunately, it looks like he will miss the first game. It seems unfortunate that the negotiations couldn't get done sooner, but at least Gates will be available for all but one game. I would put him right behind Tony Gonzalez on my tight end rankings.
