Fantasy Football League - Draft Position - 2nd Pick

Drafting from the second pick is one of my favorite positions to draft from in a 10 player league. Here is a breakdown of my strategy for the first three picks when drafting from the #2 position.

1. Stud Running Back
2. Stud Receiver
3. Stud Quarterback (or Great 2nd Running Back)

Drafting from number 2 guarantees that you will end up with a stud running back. But you'll also have a chance to get a top tier receiver.

In almost every draft, running backs go first. From the #2 spot, by the time it gets back around to you in the second spot, most of the top running backs are gone. Some people make the mistake of taking the best available RB at this spot to fill their roster. But this is a mistake. Your missing out on a lot of stud WR's and QB's that haven't been picked yet.

It is a mistake not to take them. Check out these top 3 picks that I got in a recent draft.

1. Priest Holmes
2. Marvin Harrison
3. Dante Culpepper

That is a championship starting 3 if I've ever seen one.

Fantasy Rule: Don't get stuck with your competitors leftovers and don't get stuck on RB's. Doing so may leave you with a mediocre team.
