Week 2 saw some big performances out of some familiar players (and a few new faces). Here are some of Sunday's most notable performances.
Quarterback
1. Donovan McNabb - 23/29 for 342 yards and 5 touchdowns. - Questionable earlier in the week but came up big against the 49ers.
2. Brett Favre - 32/44 for 342 yards and 3 touchdowns, 2 ints. - Favre owners are breathing easier this week after this performance.
3. Carson Palmer - 27/40 for 337 yards and 3 touchdowns, 1 int - Is this the years that Palmer comes of age.
Wide Receiver
1. Terrell Owens - 5 catches for 143 yards and 2 touchdowns - It looks like he was right...he's putting up big numbers again for the Eagles.
2. Hines Ward - 6 catches for 84 yards and 2 touchdowns - He's still one of the top wideouts in the league.
3. Chad Johnson - 7 catches for 139 yards and 1 touchdown - I expect CJ to have a huge year this year for an emerging Bengals team.
Running Back
1. Thomas Jones - 139 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns, 2 catches for 19 yards - Benson wants to start, but it will be hard to bench Jones if he keeps playing like this.
2. Stephen Davis - 77 yards and 3 touchdowns - I don't think anyone expected Davis to be playing so well this season. It looks like he is the go to guy in the endzone.
3. Shaun Alexander - 144 yards and 1 touchdown, 2 catches for 11 yards - Shut down last week by the Jaguars, Alexander responded in a big way.
Disappointments:
1. Dante Culpepper - 5 interceptions; He looks terrible so far this year.
2. Peyton Manning - 13/28 for 122 yards passing; He's faced two tough defenses to start the season, look for him to light it up next week.
3. Curtis Martin - 72 yards rushing, no TD's - Last year's rushing champ is starting the season slow.
