Fantasy Football - Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 3

Is your fantasy football team suffering from injury problems already? Yahoo's Brandon Funston lists some of the best waiver wire pickups for week 3. His picks are: Thomas Jones, Terry Glenn, Drew Bledsoe, Marcel Shipp, Jerramy Stevens, and the Chicago Bears defense.

I agree with most of them, although I doubt Thomas Jones is still available in most leagues. Terry Glenn and Drew Bledsoe probably have the most long term value out of all of these players because they are not being threatened by younger rookies.

Here are a couple of other waiver wire players that I think have potential to produce this season.

1. Ron Dayne: Denver's running back situation is cloudier than ever this year, but Dayne showed promise last week and Anderson and Bell are beat up a bit. If you have room on your bench, he might be worth holding on to for a while.

2. Trent Dilfer: It may not continue, but Dilfer has been putting up good numbers for the Browns this year so far.

3. Travis Taylor: With Burleson injured, Taylor becomes the Vikings #1 wide receiver. He has 10 catches for 113 yards in two games. If Culpepper can get his act together, the pair could produce pretty good numbers together.
