Best Way to Conduct a Live Draft?

How do you conduct your live draft? Are you new-school, using a fancy draft tool on ESPN fantasy football or Yahoo fantasy football? Or do you kick it old-school and use a magnetic fantasy football draft board. Do you keep track of your draft online, or do you write the picks in by hand or use a fantasy football draft spreadsheet?

I find that the best drafts are conducted live with paper notes in hand around a big table. The online tools are fantastic, but they do take some of the fun and character out of the event. My opinion, make an effort to get your league together in person at least once a year for the draft and save the computers for the season. It makes for a better league and an all-around better experience.

I've never tried it on paper... We usually have 10 or 11 of our 12 show up for an all day Draft Party. Everyone brings a laptop and we draft live. I host and ensure the beer is flowing to help people make mistakes.

I totally agree with your suggestion. Any suggestions for a traveling trophy?
